The association “Benediktpreis von Mönchengladbach” mourns the death of Prof. Dr. h.c. Kasper König. The art curator and university lecturer was a committed member of the association’s board of trustees from 2017 to 2023. His ideas and suggestions had a positive influence on the work of the Board of Trustees and the association, says Ulrich M. Harnacke, Chairman of the Board of the “Benediktpreis von Mönchengladbach” association. König was one of the greats in the art and exhibition scene. He was a formative director of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and, among other things, the initiator of the Skulptur Projekte in Münster. Prof. Dr. h.c. Kasper König died in Berlin on August 9, 2024 at the age of 80.
