The “Benedict Prize of Mönchengladbach” is awarded every two years. This award is usually given to personalities with greater life experience who have achieved outstanding things for the common good through their previous actions and who are thus exemplary – not least for the younger generation.
From this younger generation, we are looking for a young woman / a young man / a group of young people – ideally between the ages of 17 and 30 – for a separate award with the “Junior Prize of the Benedict Prize Association of Mönchengladbach”, who has documented value-oriented action on the basis of our Christian occidental culture in a special way through a work / action / activity in the areas of economy – science – society – culture – art.
The achievement to be honoured can be, for example, a scientific work (doctorate, master’s or diploma thesis), an artistic work and/or a lecture, an action (founding an association or similar) or any other deed of value to society. It should also be exemplary and, if possible, have potential for sustainability.
The Junior Award was offered for the first time in autumn 2015. It is awarded every two years and is endowed with 1,500 €, with further gradations planned. The board of the association decides on the awarding of the prize.
We are currently looking for applicants. Proposals, which should preferably be summarised on one DIN A4 page, should be sent to the address of the association by 31 December 2024.
